Head of Goliath is my contemporary interpretation of the story of the young shepherd David slaying the giant Goliath with only a slingshot and stones. The sculpture is a symbol of overcoming obstacles and adversity, while providing viewers with a colorful array of textures and shapes.
Because the sculpture is made of organic material and has not been weatherproofed, it presents a unique opportunity to observe how the outdoor environment will affect the work. I’m looking forward to seeing how the piece will weather and change over time, thereby using the surroundings as a catalyst to transform Head of Goliath into a modern ruin.
